Add a free URL shortener to any post or page. Visitors paste a long link and get a short acobily.com link with a QR code and click stats. No ads on links, no sign-up, no API key.

== Description ==

Acobily adds a simple, free link shortening tool to any post or page. A visitor pastes a long URL, optionally picks a custom name, and gets a short acobily.com link, its QR code and its public click-stats address.

Why site owners add it:

* It is genuinely free for visitors: no account, no API key, no configuration.
* Acobily links carry no ads: no interstitial page between the click and the destination.
* Every link includes a QR code and a live click counter.
* Custom names are supported: acobily.com/yourname style links.

Add the tool with the **Acobily** block or with this shortcode:

`[acobily]`

To force a language for one shortcode instance, use:

`[acobily lang="es"]`

or:

`[acobily lang="en"]`

With `lang="auto"`, or when no language is supplied, Acobily uses Spanish for Spanish WordPress locales and English otherwise.

A visible “Powered by Acobily · A3Q Global” credit is shown below the tool and links to https://acobily.com. The plugin contains no hidden links and makes no external request when it is activated or when a page is merely viewed. The external request described below happens only after a visitor submits a link in the tool.

== External service ==

This plugin relies on the Acobily API, a third-party service operated by A3Q Global:

* Service: Acobily — https://acobily.com
* About the service: https://acobily.com/about/
* API endpoint used by this plugin: https://acobily.com/api/shorten

When a visitor enters a link and presses the tool's button, the visitor's browser sends **only the URL that the visitor pasted** (and the optional custom name) to the Acobily API so that a short link can be created. The plugin does not send WordPress user data, site data, cookies, post content or administrator information to Acobily. The short link, its QR code and its click statistics are stored by Acobily so the link keeps working; the destination URL is the one the visitor provided.

The plugin's PHP code does not download or execute remote files. All API communication is initiated from the visitor's browser after the visitor uses the tool.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the `acobily` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory, or install the ZIP file through **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin** in WordPress.
2. Activate **Acobily** through the **Plugins** screen.
3. Edit a post or page.
4. Insert the **Acobily** block, or add the `[acobily]` shortcode.
5. Publish the page and paste a long link into the tool to test it.

No account, API key or configuration is required.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Is the shortener really free for my visitors? =

Yes. Creating short links, custom names, QR codes and click stats are free on Acobily, with no monthly creation cap like the big shorteners, under fair use.

= Do Acobily links show ads? =

No. Acobily links redirect straight to the destination. There is no advertising page, popup or countdown in front of the link.

= Does the plugin store visitor links on my WordPress site? =

No. The plugin stores nothing in the WordPress database. When a visitor uses the tool, the visitor's browser sends only the pasted URL to the Acobily API, which creates and stores the short link so it keeps working, as explained in the External service section above.

= Can I use the tool more than once on one page? =

Yes. Each shortcode or block instance works independently. The CSS and JavaScript are loaded only on pages where an instance is rendered.

= What happens to abusive links? =

Links used for phishing, spam or malware are removed by Acobily and their sources blocked.
